A 33-year-old San Jose woman was arrested last week in Mountain View after she allegedly got into someone's car and demanded the driver take her to a store to buy cigarettes.
The driver, a 30-year-old San Jose man, was on his way to work in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, June 17, and was waiting at a stop light at Charleston Road and Alta Avenue when the woman, Lashonda Meza, allegedly got into the front seat of the car.
Meza allegedlu demanded that the man drive her to the store and buy her cigarettes, and threatened to hurt him with a lighter and "unknown" fluid if he did not comply, according to police spokeswoman Shino Tanaka.
The driver, fearing for his life, started to drive but eventually fled the vehicle, Tanaka said. Meza later left the vehicle as well, and was located by on the 1600 block of Charleston Road. Meza was arrested on kidnapping charges and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail without bail.

Please just take these folks to the hospital. The police could have put her on a 5150 and medical professionals would have had the opportunity to help her.
Arresting her, throwing her in jail, and running her through our failed criminal justice system just makes whatever is going on with her worse. And the community has to pay for it.

But 5150 is part of LPS... and LPS is bad right?
