No injuries in kitchen fire

Mountain View firefighters responded to a Waverly Park home on Thursday after the homeowner reported the kitchen cabinets were on fire.

The source of the fire in the 3000 block of Lubich Drive is a mystery thus far. Upon arriving at the home, firefighters saw smoke coming from the roof and in the kitchen area. The walls and the ceiling were clearly charred around the kitchen area.

There were no injuries reported and fire officials determined the house was safe enough for the residents to stay in. They are continuing to investigate the cause.
