The Friends of Los Altos Library is hosting its quarterly used book sale at the Los Altos Youth Center over the next three days.

The first day of the event opens this evening, Aug. 23 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., for members only. Those interested can purchase membership at the door for a $10 fee.

The youth center will be open to the public on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 12 p.m to 3 p.m.

The last day of the sale, attendees can buy books by the bag, for a rate of $5 a bag. Books will be sold at individually marked prices on Friday and Sunday.

The Friends of Los Altos Library is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that fundraises and collects donated books in support of the Los Altos and Woodland branch libraries, contributing over $100,000 each year, according to its website.

The organization’s next book sales are scheduled for Nov. 1-3, Feb. 7-9 and May 1-3, according to its website.
