Crime brief: Police seeking suspects in REI jacket theft

Mountain View police are looking for a man and a woman who allegedly stole jackets from a sporting goods store Tuesday morning.

The pair of suspects reportedly entered the REI on Charleston Road in Mountain View around 11 a.m. and took jackets from the store without paying, according to police spokeswoman Katie Nelson.

The two were seen leaving in a Lincoln sedan on Charleston Road headed toward Palo Alto, Nelson said.

Employees of the store described them as a 5-foot-6-inch black man in his 50s wearing a white shirt and a black woman in her 50s with bleached blond hair. Officers are following up on the incident, Nelson said.
