A 40-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary on the 1200 block of Terra Bella Avenue in Mountain View early Monday morning, police said in a statement posted on Nextdoor.
Mountain View dispatchers received a phone call about an alarm going off at a business around 4 a.m. on Aug. 7. The alarm company told the dispatchers they saw a man on their live video feed breaking into the building and removing items, include electronics, police said.
Mountain View patrol officers arrived on the scene with a K9 unit and set up a perimeter to look for the suspect. They were joined by patrol officers from the Los Altos and Santa Clara police department. A man matching the alarm company’s description walked out of the business carrying the stolen items, police said.
The suspect was detained without incident and arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and booked into Santa Clara County Jail. The stolen items were returned to the business, police said.
