Bruno Weiser
June 9, 1925-March 12, 2019
Palo Alto, California

Bruno Weiser was known by family and friends as a hard worker, and a kind and optimistic man who always had an interesting story to tell, a song to play on the harmonica, or a beer to share. He loved to be surrounded by friends and family. Bruno Weiser, long-time resident of Palo Alto, passed away on March 12, 2019. He was 93. He will be long remembered for his strength of character, wonderful laugh and generosity.

Bruno was born in Skotschau, Poland, to Alois and Olga (Frenstatcky) Weiser, a German family, in 1925. Bruno met the love of his life, Edith, in the beautiful city of Salzburg, Austria, in 1950, and they married in 1952. They emigrated to San Francisco in 1956, where they formed many close friendships. In 1968 the family moved to Palo Alto. Bruno established Bruno Weiser Dental Laboratory, in Menlo Park, from which he retired in the 1990s. Although Bruno was severely injured and lost one leg below the knee as a motorcycle messenger in World War II, he lived a wonderful, fortunate and long life. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in the mountain cabin he built in Cold Springs, California, where the activities included fishing, lake swimming and water and snow skiing. Bruno was also a regular at the Rinconada Pool, swimming morning laps, for many years. He loved to dance with Edith, and together they went to many events in San Francisco and Palo Alto where they could waltz together. Bruno enjoyed traveling, including retirement travels with Edith in a camping van seeing most of the United States, and many cruises and tours of Europe, Mexico, China and other countries. Bruno and Edith made new friends wherever they traveled.

Bruno is survived by his loving wife, Edith, of Palo Alto, California, his daughter, Lorna Naugle (husband: Phillip), of Tracy, California, his son, Reinhard Weiser (wife: Joan Grant), of San Mateo, California, and his grandchildren Erika Mallory (husband: Justin) of Tracy, California, Andrea Nelson (husband: Michael) of Campbell, California, Daniel Weiser of Merrimack, New Hampshire, and Sydney Weiser of Santa Cruz, California, his great granddaughters, Arleigh and Camille Mallory, and his sister-in-law, Elly Weiser, of North Vancouver, Canada. He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Weiser, of North Vancouver Canada, and his parents.

The family especially wants to thank Pathways Home Health & Hospice of Sunnyvale and Complete Senior Living of San Mateo for their care and support.
