Sharon Mullen
March 17, 1943-Dec. 25, 2017
Palo Alto, California

Sharon Ann Case Mullen joined her husband and parents in heaven on Dec. 25, 2017, Christmas morning, with her loving children by her side.

Sharon was born March 17,1943, in Palo Alto to Elsie and Elton Case. She went through grade school at Mayfield, then attending Wilbur Jr. High and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1961. Her favorite color was green, which she wore proudly cheer leading “Green and white forever go Paly High.”

During her high school years she worked at Bishops Creamery on California Avenue. Many hamburgers, french fries, and Coke colas in glass bottles were shared in red-seat booths laughing with friends and listening to the latest Rock and Roll hits off American Band Stand.

At the age of 18, Sharon took a position at Kodak on Page Mill Road and became the Palo Alto company’s first woman processor. She continued to work there for the next 25 years until the company closed their Palo Alto plant.

When one door closes another one opens. She and her long time Kodak coworker opened Bentleys Flower Depot in Menlo Park. Sharon always had an eye for design and color; above all she was a people person bringing bouquets of smiles. Sharon married her best friend, Al Mullen, in 1971 on Valentine’s Day. They soon bought their home in Palo Alto. Their door was open to family and friends and she touched so many lives with her kindness.

She is survived by her son, Richard, and daughter, Kelly, and her grandchildren Jennifer, Kylie and Conner.
