Voices Around Town

What do you think about the potential removal of the ponds from Shoreline Golf Links?

Asked in Shoreline Park. Pictures and interviews by Emily Hamilton.

"I don't think the ponds should be removed because they're integral to the game of golf."

Sam Ghosh, Santa Clara

"Good idea. You have to cut down the geese population and that's one way to do it."

Paul Kutler, Los Altos

"That would suck. I'm totally against removing them because I'm all about the animals. That [bird poop] is fertilizer."

Amos Otis, San Jose

"We can live peacefully with the birds. I think we bother them more than they bother us. The water adds accent to the landscape. It would look ugly with no water."

Freeman Hsu, Los Altos

"I hate to see them take them all out. The geese don't bother me at all."

Thomas McCarthy, Mountain View
