Voices Around Town

The president gave his second State of the Union address Tuesday. How do you think he has done in his first two years as president?

Asked in Downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Nick Veronin

"I think he came in with a lot of problems and has had a lot to tackle. He has made an effort but there has just been so much opposition, he hasn't really had a chance."

Kerri Sears, San Jose

"I was excited when he was elected, and I think he's done well. But he has maybe chickened out a bit. That said, I wouldn't want his job."

Meg Bruce, San Francisco

"He has done an excellent job handling the financial crisis."

John Akkaya, San Mateo

"I've voted for the Democrats my whole life, with the exception of the last three elections. He really hasn't done much for the American people."

Daniel Lucian, Mountain View

"I think that he is doing as good a job as can be expected, given that he is facing so much opposition."

Katie Griffin, Mountain View
