Voices Around Town

Are you worried now that one of the Chowchilla kidnappers was paroled to Mountain View?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Emily Efland.

"If he's done his time, I think it's fair that he's out. I don't believe he's any threat to society."

David Trotter, Mountain View

"I'm not too worried about something like that, but it's something that I didn't know about that's in the back of my mind when I'm here in Mountain View. It's something to think about."

Nick Fraioli, Sunnyvale

"I was actually a junior in high school ... when the children were kidnapped and left in a storage locker under the ground. The children have lifelong scars that they're going to live with and I would rather see him behind bars."

Susie Bickel, Saratoga

"It doesn't really matter. There are more pertinent issues to talk about and write about than something that has already been decided, so let's move on."

Peter McCutchen, San Mateo

"I'm not so concerned about someone who committed a crime in 1976. That's 35 years ago. Hopefully, if I have faith in our corrective facilities, then he should be out and living fine in a community of people."

Anita Wilhelm, San Francisco
