Voices Around Town

What is your preferred method of holiday shopping?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Photos and interviews by Nick Veronin.

"I shop in all forms for Christmas. Sometimes it's easy to shop online, or if it's a unique item I can only get online. But I like the retail experience as well."

Claude Levenger, Mountain View

"Online. It's just easier to do it online. Half the stuff I find, it's just easier to do that."

Katy Wong, Mountain View

"It's much easier to find books on Amazon, or if it's for my grandparents, I order flowers or something online and have it delivered to them. But if it's for my parents, I buy them wine or scotch and I go to a store to pick that up."

Reed Zelezny, San Francisco

"Nowadays, I do everything exclusively online. It's kind of more of a hassle to go to the store. It's kind of just more convenient. You just check in, click a couple buttons and it just shows up tomorrow."

Luke Curley, Mountain View

"I would say 50-50. I suppose it could be easier to shop online, because you're doing it from the comfort of your own home and it's less tiring. But I also like to be able to see things — really see them — especially clothing."

Fiona Hynes, Galway, Ireland
