Council boosts housing loans for city staffers

To decrease turnover, Mountain View offers help for nearby home purchases

For more than a decade, Mountain View has offered loans to help its rank-and-file workers afford the exorbitant cost of a home, but the program has received barely any attention. And there's a good reason for that: No city employee has ever actually applied for one of the loans.
