Officers responded to reports of the fire around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. The two men and the flaming dumpster were both in an enclosed area on the 100 block of W. Evelyn Avenue. The two were told to come out, and officers found that burning leaves had started the fire, according to police spokeswoman Katie Nelson.
The two suspects, ages 27 and 26, were both arrested on suspicion of unlawfully causing a fire. One of the suspects was also arrested for public intoxication.
