Crime Watch

Robbery, Castro St. / W. Dana St., 3/9

On Friday at 9 p.m., a 58-year-old San Jose resident was walking down West Dana Street when he was approached by a man who grabbed his neck, pushed him to the ground and told him to hand over his possessions.

The victim offered his backpack, from which the man took prescription medication, $50 in cash and a cell phone. The robber then fled on foot, heading eastward on Dana Street. He is described as a Hispanic male with black hair and eyes, a mustache, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes at the time.

Vandalism, Mountain View Library, 3/8

On Thursday at 3:45 p.m., a Mountain View Library employee looking out from a window noticed a young girl writing graffiti on a light post with a Sharpie pen. The employee managed to bring the girl inside the library and called police. Upon investigation, police discovered numerous incidents of similar graffiti in the area totaling $50 in damages. The suspect, a 12-year-old Mountain View resident, was handed over to her father.

Vandalism, 100 block Castro St., 3/6

On Mar. 6, the owner of King of Krung Siam Thai restaurant opened the shop to discover three lamps broken in the back patio. In addition, electric wires had been pulled out. The victim has claimed $1,000 in losses. There are no suspects.
