Voices Around Town

What are your reflections on Steve Jobs' legacy?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Nick Veronin.

"I think Steve Jobs had a major impact on the world as a whole and this area specifically. I think a lot of us owe our livelihoods to him who work in Silicon Valley. I think it's very unfortunate that he's passed away at such a relatively young age."

Patrick Santos, Mountain View

"He's definitely changed my life. I think I wouldn't be out here (in Silicon Valley) if it weren't for the products he's built. And it's amazing to me to think about all the people who can probably say the same thing. It's very sad that he's gone."

Sam Odio, Mountain View

"Steve Jobs is a great loss to this community and, I think, the entire world."

Jennifer Munoz, San Jose

"An impressive part of my life has been the iPhone. To him, I owe a lot of things."

Douglass LeCorn, San Francisco

"Personally, I don't think he's half the man people say he is, considering people like Bill Gates who do things to try to educate youth, stop world hunger and fight AIDS. (Jobs) really had an opportunity to make a difference in the world with the amount of money that he had."

Garrett Roush, Seattle
