Police say that the suspect had allegedly pointed the replica firearm at two other students, both 17, in a bathroom at the school on Monday, May 14, according to police spokeswoman Katie Nelson. The suspect reportedly threatened the two students after being asked why he was laughing at them.
Officers were called to investigate the incident two days later when the witnesses reported what had happened, Nelson said. Police confirmed that the replica firearm was indeed fake, and a request for an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect on charges of exhibiting a replica firearm in a threatening manner.
Police could not clarify whether the suspect had since been arrested.
