I used to live in this complex. People who live here have very little respect for the property itself. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful area. I never understood why other people did not feel the same way. Changing this property is a step in the right direction. Why should this change be looked upon badly? I always thought a rental agreement was a 2-way street.... and that if the tenant can back out, so can the landlord? People should be happy that a run down, out-of-date building is being replaced.

I completely agree with you, Lupe. I never understood why residents of the Summerhill Apartments trashed their own homes like they did. I would walk by and see rusty, abandoned cars parked along the street, old car batteries left on the sidewalk, fast food wrappers strewn all over the parking lot, landscaping left unkempt, broken beer bottles all over the ground... I even saw bicycles left on the rooftops. On weekends, the parking lot became a place for tailgating parties with lit up barbecue grills, loud booming bass from car stereos disturbing the neighborhood, etc. Like you, I am looking forward to something new going into that location.
