Mayfield Mall developer could be bowing out

Original post made on Oct 29, 2008

Toll Brothers, the high-flying nationally ranked home builder that was retained by Hewlett-Packard to develop a huge housing project on its 27-acre Mayfield Mall site, appears to be on shaky ground in its involvement with the project, saying it cannot build the required tunnel to the train station or pay the land price it had negotiated with HP.

Let convert it back to JC Penney's for a change or even try world's largest FRY's Electronics store!!! Plenty of parking spaces better than Palo Alto location.
We missed Penneys since the store closed down Sunnyvale area already several years ago !!

We need affordable housing to keep Mountain View rolling. Retail sale is slow in this economic situation. No retailer will rent this place now.

If Toll Brothers can't make it, find another builder.

Perhaps Toll Brothers has knowledge of the High Speed Rail plans and possible impacts on properties along the CalTrain right of way? Would they need to disclose the HSR EIR to potential buyers? See the thread currently running on PA Online; Schools and Kids; talking about eminent domain.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
