No big surprise here. Very tragic for the family. Hope she gets community service rather than jail time and uses the time to inform others in the community about false reporting.

Considering the reward that people like "Octomom" get for doing the wrong thing, I think more and more people of all ages will be pulling stunts like this to get their 15 seconds of infamy (and cash out on Dr. Phool show).

As a parent, I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish they went through for those four days.
I am glad that no one went to prison with those false accusations.

What a shocker. Remember back to the original story on the Voice when this first happened and all the comments from people who knew her saying she was a notorious liar ... and then all the comments from her family saying she was not. I guess we know now who was right.

I am a teacher where this young lady attended high school. Although she was never in one of my classes, I observed how she treated staff and fellow teachers. I personally overhead her berate a colleague of mine several times - and I also overheard her screaming at her mom on the phone outside of my room a number of times. All I have to say is that I hope this girl gets the help she needs. I have compassion for her and, especially, for her family.

My daughter knows Brittany, and when this story was first reported, she said it would turn out to be a lie.
