Mountain View police made a traffic stop Friday and arrested the driver for allegedly being in possession of marijuana and half a dozen knives with seven-inch blades.

Christopher Davis, 25, of South Lake Tahoe, was charged with possession of about 11 grams of marijuana and possession of dangerous weapons. Police say they discovered the items after pulling him over for three vehicle code violations on Friday, June 19.

The officers decided to search the car after they “smelled marijuana,” said police spokesperson Liz Wylie. Upon searching the car, Wylie said, police found the pot along with six seven-inch knives that “don’t fold” in Davis’ pocket and near the passenger seat.

  1. How do you carry six 7-inch blade knives (that don’t fold) in your pocket while you’re sitting down driving? That’s impressive…and strange…

  2. I didn’t know a 7″ inch knife was considered a concealed weapon (same classification as a firearm). Now I’m worried about my landscape maintenance tools that include a machette and hatch that I store in the cab of my truck.

  3. Obviously the knives were not in his pocket while he was sitting down … probably in a jacket or some form of clothing on the passenger seat next to him.

  4. That’s what happens when you ditch all your friends and refuse to grow up. He’s 25. He deserves it. Maybe this will open his eyes and help him grow up like the rest of the world

  5. According to police, the knife was in the suspect’s jacket pocket. The pot was also sitting on the seat in his car, where they could see it.
