Well, I hope the police get to keep their budget for this. I would hate to see the city say nope we need to cut and then the gang wars rise again. I think public safety should come first. Good job police. Thanks for watching our streets when I warm in bed.

The community has been arguing for this, so it's nice to know they are patrolling for trouble rather than trying to harvest money from minor traffic infractions from middle class house wives.

Put the pressure where it matters most, but let's not forsake traffic enforcement. Driving around MV is a pleasure compared to Palo Alto, where there is very little visible traffic enforcement and a lot more obvious selfish, foolish behaviors: speeding, running red lights, rolling around stop sign corners, etc. All of which do happen in MV, but we do see traffic stops all the time. The message is that this is not tolerated. "Middle class housewives" are over-targeted by traffic enforcement? Gimme a break! You betray something here, methinks.
