The biggest idea ever floated

Patri Friedman believes that some day humans might live on platforms in the middle of the sea. The Mountain View resident is so dedicated to the idea, in fact, that he received a half-million dollars from PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel to study it further.

I think the this Seasteading idea could be a pitched as a precursor to eventually having people live in outer space. Many people are bought into the idea of having a space station or a colony on the moon or mars. Why not first test out the logistics and precedence by having a colony of the world's nations on the ocean.
