Breakfast in Mountain View????

Original post made by Brian, Old Mountain View, on Jun 24, 2010

Does everyone stay in for breakfast on the weekends in this suburb? I swear I have not seen a good greasy spoon diner anywhere! The closest I have seen is Country Gourmet which was an overpriced, flavor-lacking experience. Did I mention that the roof was leaking water and we were sitting on plastic patio furniture?

All I'm asking for is a couple of eggs and bacon. Here's an idea, put one of Castro! I have lived in numerous foodie cities where a good breakfast spot can thrive in a downtown area serving nothing but breakfast all damn day!

It may not be greasy enough for you, but Hobee's offers terrific breakfasts, and the Rengstorff/Central Expressway location is pretty close to downtown MV. Eric.

Have you tried "American Breakfast" at Los Charros?

If you're willing to drive a little bit South on San Antonio Road the Original Pancake House in Los Altos is pretty good.

Yes!! I agree, MV lacks that essential all-day breakfast joint. We usually drive over to Los Altos or Cupertino IHOP or Flames by Santana Row for our afternoon omelettes and flapjacks. It would be nice to have one of those Mom n Pop breakfast places here with homemade pancakes, eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, and of course, the bottomless cups of coffee filled by Flo the waitress...

Try Michael's Restaurant at Shoreline (next to the golf course pro shop). Great breakfasts and lunches. If Lenny's working the bar, ask to see his fish.
