Does Caltrain have surveillance cameras at its stations? If not, why not? If Caltrain cannot afford them, the city should pay for them.

This is terrible. Does CalTrain have any security personnel patrolling the area?

What CA needs is the ability for citizens to get concealed carry permits (after passing the requisite background checks and weapons safety classes)

Doesn't surprise me. If anyone has used the San Antonio station in the evening, there is little to no lighting at the station. Perfect place for muggers. I picked up my wife there once and told her she shouldn't get off there again because of safety concerns.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

The police want you to hand over your goods because it is less paperwork for them when you don't get beat up. They don't make money writing up robbery reports, and you know they aren't going to find your things. They only make money on traffic tickets, deserved or not.
