Classes help parents help their kids

There are many ideas for ways to close the gap in achievement that exists between students from poor families and their better-off peers. But any approach is sure to fall short if it focuses on the child alone, according to Betsy Nikolchev, the founder and executive director of the Family Engagement Institute.
