Has anyone figured out who "Matthew Pumar" is yet? The media has provided zero information about him so far, such as where does he work, where did he grow up, where did he go to school, or what was he doing speeding through Mountain View at 9:30am. He seems to be an upper class young man with a high priced lawyer that has been working hard to scrub his history. The media isn't even printing his mug shot anymore, though it was released by the police a month ago.

Money changes everything.

I hope we don't see a repeat of that judicial atrocity of a year or so ago when the acupuncture clinic owner from Saratoga went scott-free after killing that poor old man on California Street in a hit & run.

That was shameful.

This case should be a slam-dunk for the prosecution, given the circumstances and the number of witnesses. This case screams for maximum jail time.

speeding through a red light, swerving to avoid a truck entering the intersection, losing control and running over an innocent man waiting for a bus - is an accident?

I live in a world I just don't understand.

Witnesses stated that he was going in excess of 70 mph. Look at the fantastic amount of damage he did. In a 35 mph zone, that is well past "speeding." The very idea of calling this tragic act of criminal (IMHO, homicidal) negligence any kind of "accident" defies reason.

I used to live in the complex with Bill. I can't even drive past or near the accident scene. Too sad !!! This man deserves to pay the highest price for what he did and for all the people whose lives he has ruined. Please !!!

Man. Everyone is in such a hurry to hang this guy.

As much as Mr. Ware deserves to be able to sit on a bus bench and not get killed by a speeding car.. Mr. Pumar deserves a fair trial.

Where he gets to question witnesses and examine evidence against him.

If this is such a clear case then it should be easy for the police to their jobs (collect the evidence) and the DA (prosecute the defendent).

We'll most likely see a plea bargain.. and prepare yourselves. It won't be the death sentence you are all screaming for.
