A PG&E gas line was struck by work crews near Moffett Field in Sunnyvale Thursday afternoon causing a gas leak, a PG&E spokeswoman said.

The gas line was reported ruptured at about 12:55 p.m. near the intersection of North Mathilda Avenue and Ross Drive, located about one block east of Moffett Field, according to PG&E spokeswoman Monica Tell.

A third-party contractor was doing work in the area when crews struck a PG&E line causing a gas leak, Tell said.

No estimated time for repairs has been determined.

Sunnyvale fire crews responded and the offramp of U.S. Highway 101 to Mathilda Avenue have been shut down, according to the CHP.
