Mayfield trees axed for Google's new digs

Residents of the Monta Loma neighborhood said they were surprised this week to see the number of trees chopped down around the former Mayfield Mall at Google's request.

Let me get this straight. The trees have been felled and now the city's new zoning administrator is coming up to speed on the situation? What's wrong with this picture?
