Original post made on Aug 6, 2014

Summer concert season is in full-swing at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, and that means a big spike in arrests for drunk in public offenses and the occasional brawl.

As a long time resident of Mountain View, these reports worry me.

If this is a documented and repeatable issue, then maybe there ought to be some changes:
1. is there enough concert private security provided by promoters?
2. is there enough MV Police coverage, given that this is expected?
3. shouldn't residents have some voice on what type of events are allowed in the city locales?

Putting up with this concert series / bad behavior obviously has nothing to do with our community, it's all about money... as usual.

The city should think twice about scheduling concerts like this. I saw a pickup truck on Amphitheatre headed to this concert, windows rolled down with a giant confederate flag flying. Are these the type of people you want to invite to your city?

There is a new place for concerts and events in the south bay, it's called Levis stadium. Lots of parking and public transportation.

Hey folks, get real! 8 people getting drunk is not an epidemic! Consider the thousands of tickets sold. it just means that everyone else was NOT drunk. Really! A Confederate flag is also not an invasion. Really! Who are "these type of people", anyway? Someone who likes Country music and is from the South? Really! Get over yourselves! Stay home. Concerts last a few hours at best.

"these types of people" that you asked about are the drunkards and trouble makers. They are the ones who should have stayed home. Disgusting behavior by those types of people. No need to try and apologize for them, it won't work.

Oh, and Susan, you under the incorrect impression that only 8 people got drunk. This is not the case at all. MANY were drunk and MANY were disorderly. Only 8 got arrested. I was there, it was a gross display of bad behavior.

It was just a bunch a good old boy drinking Buds. A few had too many. Not a big deal. Its not like it was a bunch of coloreds or homos on drugs. Those are not the type of people we want to invite to our city.

Ah, wait. Was that bigoted? Was that asinine?

Funny bigoted people cannot see their own bigotry.

Now is it drunk in public if they are in a venue where alcohol is being served??? Sounds like the the fake child molesting cops of mv have nothing better to do then arrest people inside a concert...
