Empire Vintage Clothing closing up shop forever!

Original post made by Empire Vintage Clothing, Castro City, on Nov 11, 2015

Empire Vintage Clothing will close their doors forever, December 19th. After, many years in Palo Alto- the only vintage clothing shop on the entire Peninsula, moved to downtown Mountain View over 2 years ago to 831 Villa street @Castro. The shop owner revitalized a rundown, eyesore of a building into a hip & retro brick and mortar shop right off the main street in M.V.

The "warehouse" part of the building was closed to the public for over 26 years as it was used for storage, instead of a retail space. It was turned into a Pop-Up shop for several events and used for vintage shop sales & events. Empire specializes in vintage fashions, retro fashions and costumes from the 1940's thru the 1980's.

After 9 years a shop owner, Tiffany is going to retire from retail and the stresses of small business. She is going to move to the North West and take care of mom and never work a Saturday again! Retail is changing so much with the internet and apps, she knows first hand how hard & crazy insane it is to have a brick and mortar shop. Everyone has new shopping habits, that focus on buying online instead of downtown shopping. Also, most of the internet sellers have no overhead costs like a brick and mortar has in a downtown rental space, employees, sales tax, insurance and inventory to name a few....

Its been a wonderful experience, and thank you to all of our customers. We have been a retail success, and cornered the Silicon Valley market in being the best and only shop of our kind for many years now. We are so proud of realizing our dreams and accomplishments to have such a popular Vintage Clothing retail shop.

Please stop by and enjoy our unique vintage clothing sales and support us before we ride off into the sunset!
