Historic Alpine Inn reopening in Portola Valley on Friday

Two private parties at the historic Alpine Inn, a Portola Valley institution that was recently sold and closed for renovation, celebrated the soft opening for family, friends and construction workers over the July 21-22 weekend.

Here come the $12 beers and $22 burgers. So glad I left this madness although I have fond memories of Zotts before everybody lost their collective minds and the rich folks ran everybody out of town.

I checked the online menu and the Alpine Burger is $8, which is about on a par with the old prices. The place was living on borrowed time and had to modernize or go out of business. At least they don't close at 4 on Sunday any more.

And those mean ol' rich people haven't ran me off yet either. Glad you made it to a better place for you though. Stop by the back for a beer when you're in town.
