Where is Dr. Sara Cody?

Original post made by Public Health, Another Mountain View Neighborhood, on May 29, 2020

Today, Newsom reiterated "he sends out the "how" guidelines". County Public Health officials are "responsible" for the when and the communication to their residents.

Where is Sara Cody? A few YouTube videos, a less than stellar website for conveying updates. Santa Clara County should be ashamed of their ability to deliver real-time data or open convenient facilities to get to 4000 tests per day.

Last we heard from Sara, she wants 4000 tests per day before she can move forward to the next phase. Last I saw "was a mini van" at a park in Mountain View on Memorial Day. Anyone know how many tests people turned up? got tested or time ran out for how many waiting?

Newsom has been holding press conferences almost every day. Does anyone where Sara gives daily or even weekly updates?

MV is considering closing Castro to help the restaurants expand their outdoor services. Maybe even drawing 6 foot circles along Castro and or Parking lots 4 or 5.

Please Sara/Santa Clara County, it's time for some leadership and face time.

I understand the reasons but I'm still going to miss the paper edition. There's something really nice about having the weekly local paper. Sometimes they make for great time capsule items.
I'm hoping to see the paper paper come back. I would pay.

Where is dr. Sara Cody you ask? That is a good question.

Hard to get any informations or straight answers from her. Just ask the county supervisors.

At her disaster out town hall on the 17th she was evasive and would not give any specifics. All we heard is that we cannot move to,phase 2 because we are in the same situation as we were in in March. And there was no herd immunity or vaccine. Two things, is she suggesting that we remain her prisoner until there is herd immunity or a vaccine? Does dr Cody know how herd immunity is acquired, then to suggest that we are in the same place as we were in March is ridiculous. We have made significant progress against the virus and understand much better how it is spread. By the next morning, it was okay to go to early phase 2. What happened in 24 hours? Probably a call from her boss to set her straight.

This week there was a sweltering heat wave. Did we hear anything about that? Isn’t that a health issue for the county? Cooling centers were opened but the nearest to us here was I. Saratoga?

I am sure Cody was sitting in her air conditioned office trying to figure out how to keep us in lockdown. She does not have to worry about her paycheck or whether she can pay rent or feed her family. Unlike the many many people who have been economically devastated by the pandemic.

And what about face masks? There are reports that countries in Asia succeeded in lowering virus numbers by wearing masks. Why did Cody wait so long to issue suggestions about masks?.

Finally many people applaud Cody for instituting the SIP and how it has saved lives, but what about companies like Facebook, google, Apple, Microsoft etc. they sent people home a week or two before Cody issues her order. How many lives did they save.
