Tracking the wildfires: The latest updates for the Midpeninsula

As wildfires ravage California, one is taking its toll on the Midpeninsula: the CZU August Lightning Complex fires, which have affected local air quality, closed roads and, in some cases, forced evacuations.

Living in the woods is like living below sea level in New Orleans. The public should not subsidize those high risks. But politicians will always use other people's money or debt to maintain and advance their own positions of power.

It is a very good idea to sign up now for a text message on the current status of the fire in your town and area. If you go to the 'Cal Fire' webpage and then go to the fire that is in your area you can sign up for a text message to receive news and alerts including evacuation precautions and orders.
