I note that Santa Clara County is currently receiving 4% of the state's weekly vaccine allocation, but has 5% of the state's population. This number goes a long way towards explaining why our county's vaccination numbers are stagnating compared to the rest of the state: we have been receiving only 80% of the doses that we would need to keep pace with other counties. It is clear that the state is allocating vaccine based on something other than population numbers, but for some reason refuses to publicly release its numbers. Without transparency, there can be no accountability.
