New housing bills stir familiar opposition

After seeing his contentious housing legislation, Senate Bill 50, flounder at the finish line last year, state Sen. Scott Wiener is taking a more delicate tact with his latest proposal to encourage residential density.

I don't know why Du Bois expects us to believe his protestations about affordability when Palo Alto has used every trick in the book to prevent anything from being built that isn't as crazy expensive as what is there now.
