According to his biography, written in 1922, Frank Huff was considered a man of "high moral character". How times have changed.
How much is re-naming the school going to cost?

I applaud the new school name and commend the process.

Maybe now the school board will have time to start addressing the sizable damage to student education caused by the lockdown.

Changing the name does not change the facts of the past. However, I hope the District considers making good use of the budget for the good of the employees and not using that money in robust salaries and those practices are the ones that should change. The community needs transparency and respect.

Having attended Huff eons ago, I am totally in favor of the name change, for two reasons: the school will be now named after a woman, and I am totally on board with this particular individual.

That said, for those who think that changing names of things and places will fix the human problem of tribalism, you either a) did not go to Huff (which provides a quality public education), or b) you don't realize that some day your behaviors and decisions will also be determined discriminatory and destine for deletion.
