Palo Alto considers relaxed rules for Foothills Nature Preserve entry

After an initial spike, the number of visitors to Foothills Nature Preserve has tapered off in recent months, prompting city officials to further loosen rules for entering the once exclusive destination.

Who woulda thought? They opened the park to all those shifty nonresidents and the sky didn't fall. The first few months were guaranteed to be a zoo, because of the media circus (which the city mostly brought on itself), but for the most part, the naysayers were wrong.
