Unboosted: California COVID-19 booster rate falls below 40% in most counties

In 19 California counties, less than a third of vaccinated residents are boosted. In some counties, it's less than 25%. One health official blames "pandemic fatigue."

"Falls below 40%" is an unfortunate verb choice because it implies that the rate is going down and at some point the rate was higher than 40%.

Having to endure long lines waiting for a third shot at some places is also discouraging people as the 6 month window for the booster has now been moved up to five months by the CDC.

The CDC needs to be more accurate in establishing the subsequent and proper timelines for any boosters.

If a fourth one is eventually required, chances are the percentages will drop as well.

It's a moving target because they keep lowering the age for boosters. So it was once higher than it is right now, yep, that's true, as a % of eligible.

But how can the Bay Area be 55% when no single county is over 55% ? Must be old data for that too.
