Smoking restriction at multi-family units

As you know, as of January 1 it became illegal to smoke in or near a building in multi-family units in Mountain View. I'm wondering, how is it going? Have people really stopped smoking in these places or have they just continued on inflicting lung cancer and emphysema on everyone in their environs? Any stories or experiences anyone is having?
