MV Whisman announces end of indoor mask requirement, though face coverings are still strongly recommended

For the first time in two years, masks will no longer be required in Mountain View's elementary and middle school classrooms starting on Monday, March 28, although wearing a face covering will still be strongly recommended.

I think I must commend the Superintendent for this administrative decision (staff involved). The reliance on Hard Medical Test Data = Pooled PCR* testing by classroom cohort (IMO) is a much better data-driven concise, and measurable LOCAL scientific approach to this medical/social/societal problem.

<- Trustee Conley - Principal Taylor -> each go their 'different directions' with their opinions. One '<- more relaxed - less relaxed -> for the other. This of course is not a "consensus decision". [not ALL Have to agree exactly] I think the community supports (in general) OPEN BACK UP OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS to the best in-person learning.

But I THINK we really can 'follow the Chief Administrative Officer' (and his staff) in this clearly formulated - publicly explained - Board well-received Plan ... and the kids will be safe.
