Opinion: I reported my harassment in the California Legislature. Then state investigators went after me

A woman filed a workplace discrimination complaint that alleged harassment while working for Assembly member Marc Berman's office.

Let me see if I get this straight. Assembly Berman's response to harrasment allegations within his own office is to allow retaliation against the victim while providing counseling and continuing employement to the perpetrator ?

I am disturbed to learn that Asm. Berman agreed with the Workplace Conduct Unit's assessment of the allegations by Ms. Ferguson. And here I thought Berman was a good guy! In fact, just today I was part of a group that met with a staffer in his office to advocate for pro-immigrant legislation, and I'm glad to know that Berman is is supporting the bills for which we advocated. But what about the situation in his office described by Ms. Ferguson? To say the least, I am concerned about his response to the inquiry from the MV Voice.

I, too, thought Asm. Berman was a "good guy". His acceptance of the WCU's report just lost him my vote. Obviously it's still the "good ol' boys club" in Sacto., with no accountability for their actions, or lack thereof.
