The local elementary district, Mountain View Whisman, has initiated a very thought out METRIC DRIVEN smoke response system. After a (IMO) disastrous cancellation of 11 complete school days in one year [permanently lost INSTRUCTION] the administration and staff rethought, regrouped, and reorganized their protocols. Then Admin went to the elected Board for public deliberations and consultations.

- Good, sensible, 'moderated' policy was then adopted. - Plenty of new smoke filters in the classroom air handling systems, and protocols that mitigate Outside smoke exposure Without Compromising total hours-of-instruction.

[ which is one reason for me to 100% support the similar repertory virus Mask Mandates! ]
