Former Trustee Juan Aranda has Passed Away

Original post made by Christopher Chiang, Rex Manor, on Nov 18, 2022

It was shared at last night's MVWSD school board meeting that former trustee Juan Aranda has passed away. While he passed away some months ago, news of his passing has taken time to get around Mountain View since he moved to Stockton.

Former Trustee Aranda was a model of community leadership, be it as a trustee, advisor to local governments, neighborhood caretaker, dance teacher, and Air Force veteran. Some links to learn more about Juan Aranda:

If you have stories of how he helped make Mountain View better, please share them below. I gratefully recall how his home was the center of community life, and he helped anyone who came by. I hope the MV Voice will run a story about his contributions to Mountain View.

Thank you for posting this information widely so everyone in Mountain View can learn about this passing of a giant. Juan was like "Mr Mountain View" and was highly respected within the school community and the city in general. He was a "go to" person for answers and help. He added richness ands context to the school boards he served on. He certainly helped me! My deep condolences to his wife, children, and family.
