Review: Last-minute sub makes for a devilishly good bad boy in West Bay Opera's 'Don Giovanni'

A week before opening night, the singer who was to play the title role in West Bay Opera's "Don Giovanni" came down with pneumonia. Replacement John Allen Nelson brings a baritone as smooth as liquid silver to his portrayal.

The last sentence is incorrect: only one of the three excerpts comes from an earlier Mozart opera, and the excerpt played is “Non piu andrai,” not “Se vuol ballare.”
