Mountain View is drafting a new plan for parks and open space, seeking community input on future vision

Mountain View is looking to expand its park system with an ambitious plan that will bring more parks, trails and open spaces to the city, laying the groundwork to create what's called the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan.

Around Town! yes - Commissioner Sommer IMO should think about, is More Money "the top priority", OR a great focused Plan that will meet the needs of those virtually un-parked “especially so because five of the nine planning areas within this town have virtually no parks,"(resident Jim Zaorski).

Like neighborhoods without neighborhood schools (improved = Vargas) I think the entire first effort (funds and planning / formal Phase One) need to be in those 5/9 "high needs" areas. The entire South of El Camino area does not need more park investment (right now, or after 'the residential building' boom). We are 'well parked' down here!
[ the center of town (Eagle Park/Mercy-Bush/Landels fields) and Rengstorff Park areas seem not too bad off.]

The Elephant / eminent domain: the compensated taking of private land for public purpose / needs to be used judiciously to expand some parklands IN THE AREAS-OF-HIGHEST-NEED.
