Riffing off of Google’s corporate mantra, the Raging Grannies lent their voices to a protest outside the search giant’s Mountain View headquarters on Tuesday. The evil in question is the American Legislative Exchange Council, a nonprofit corporate lobby group which Common Cause, the protest organizer, says has been linked to controversial legislation such as Florida’s “stand your ground” law, voter suppression and climate change-deniers.

According to spokeswoman Helen Grieco, Common Cause filed a whistle-blower complaint alleging that the council misuses charity law and under-reports its lobbying expenditures, among other things. The group, along with climate change activists, is pressuring corporations including Google, Facebook and Yelp to withdraw their membership.

  1. “linked to controversial legislation such as Florida’s “stand your ground” law, voter suppression and climate change-deniers.”

“stand your ground”: Means they don’t want you to protect yourself.

“Voter suppression”: Meaning they want anyone to be able to vote, like the criminals, mentally retard and the likes, societies most precious members.

“climate change-deniers”: Meaning they want big govt. to tax people more so that they can start a new govt agency.

  2. Bravo to the sweet Raging Grannies who in their golden years
stand up for the issues that are hidden by influenced lobby
and greedy groups who want to muddy the water.
