Hundreds attended the Lunar New Year celebration at the Mountain View Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 10, an event that featured an impressive line-up of 13 different live performances, featuring local musicians, dancers and youth groups, as well as community booths with family-friendly activities.
The performances were the main attraction of the event, as hundreds crowded into the community center to listen to and watch the performers, who were drawing on both traditional and contemporary art forms. Youth groups, in particular, captivated the audiences, as young children sang and danced, much to the delight of family and friends.
The final performance ended with a lion dance, a traditional Asian art form that originated in China.
