As Election Day draws closer, the Mountain View Voice and the League of Women Voters of Los Altos-Mountain View are hosting a Mountain View City Council candidate forum next week on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The forum will feature all nine contenders who are in the running for the Mountain View City Council race.
The Q&A format will cover topics like affordable housing, climate resiliency, civic engagement, funding challenges, downtown revitalization and Measure G, a property transfer tax that is on the November ballot.
There also is an opportunity for community members to submit questions so they can hear directly from the candidates to learn more about their policy positions and where they stand on important issues.
The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Mountain View Community Center, located at 201 S. Rengstorff Ave. in Mountain View. The forum is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. Registration for the in-person event is not required. A recording also will be made available on the election events page of the League of Women Voters website.
The League of Women Voters is also hosting candidate forums for local schools districts starting next week. The Mountain View Los Altos High School Board candidate forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mountain View High School at the student union, located at 3535 Truman Ave. in Mountain View.
The Mountain View Whisman School District candidate forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Graham Middle School, located at 1175 Castro St. in Mountain View.
