Community: Dental Wellness Fair
A free dental-wellness fair for families with children under age 5 is set for Saturday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Mountain View. The event includes arts and crafts, oral-health presentations in English and Spanish and free dental screenings. Mercy Street Family Resource Center, 748 Mercy St., Mountain View.
Theater: Stegner Shorts on Stage
The Word for Word Performing Arts Company on Saturday, Feb. 26, presents staged readings of short stories and poems written by Stegner fellows in Stanford University’s Creative Writing Program. The event begins at 8 p.m. in Dinkelspiel Auditorium on campus. Tickets are $20.
Symposium: Darwin Day at Stanford
On Sunday, Feb. 27, starting at 1 p.m., Stanford University’s human-biology program hosts a series of free short talks on Charles Darwin in the Geology Corner auditorium, Main Quad building 320, Room 105. Scheduled symposium speakers include Steve Palumbi, director of the Hopkins Marine Station; and marine sciences professor Harold A. Miller.
