■ Film: Central Asian Film Series
As part of the Central Asian Film Series at Stanford University, the 1998 Kyrgyz film “Beshkempir: The Adopted Son” will be shown tonight (April 19) at 7 p.m., with an introduction and commentary by Alma Kunanbaeva of the university’s anthropology department.
